I couldn’t find another photo that I liked with this post so I used the one I took on my mother’s birthday a few days ago. What do you think?

Where as a glass of wine does help with having a feel good year, that is not quite what I have in mind with this post.
You see every year, I take time out to plan my next year. Usually it starts in the fall but for whatever reason I wasn’t feeling it then and it wasn’t until the Holiday season now that I finally have.
I’m always interested in new ways to make the process more fun, easy and more organic to me (I am not one for charts, projections and number goals). Perhaps you are the same way. So I was really excited when I stumbled over these really awesome blog posts this weekend. They have made a big difference in how I do things so I decided to share them with all of you. I hope you find them useful.
1. Hogwarts books, glitter, + a candle: a specific recipe for a feel good year- Written by Kate Northrup, Kate shares a new years tradition she did every year as a kid that made a big difference in her life. I think it is great because it is something you can do with your kids.
2. Be a Star Now- Have you ever heard of the saying “Fake it til’ you make it”? Well, actor Josh Pais has an interesting take on that saying that will revolutionize how you approach your life.
3. Why a 7-year old should help run your life- We all have an inner child that we never quite leave behind. What if that was a good thing? What if acting like a child could actually lead us to a happier more fulfilled life? Writer Nisha Moodley shows you how.
BONUS: Have you been making new years resolutions and are sick of them? Have you been feeling like your life is the same thing year in and year out? Well, then you are probably missing the one really important key element Danielle LaPorte talks about it in Desire Map. I never knew I was missing it too, so that is why I am telling all of you about it. I listened to a sample of it this weekend and I am in LOVE with it. I will never plan anything in my life again without using her techniques. Seriously.
Do you know someone who could really use better year planning techniques? Please SHARE it with your friends. You never know, it could change their lives.
Until next time,
Stefanie

The Other Side of Gray
Thanks Annie. It’s a great article.
Love the article about letting our 7 year old selves rule. We were so awesome when we were kids. It’s time to find that side of ourselves again. Christmas is probably the perfect time for that.
Erica, I totally agree with you. For whatever reason I feel more connected to my child self and what I once wanted then ever before. Here is to you finding yours again. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you.
